 Well it has been a very long time again since I have entered a challenge. It felt great to be out shooting for a challenge again. I will admit this shot was a mistake, or an accident if you will. I was trying to take the shot while the colts head was covering the sun completely, and of course it moved. However, once I saw the result I was instantly hooked. I am guessing some might feel the sun and flare are too distracting, but I love it. I love the moment that was captured. I was using my flash for fill with Mr. Fong on top(man I love that thing). I did crop some of the top off for a better comp as well as eliminating 2 dust spots that are on my sensor. I played with shadow/highlight, selective color, saturation and contrast quite a bit to get what you see here. I attempted to get as much detail on the colt as possible. I do hope some enjoy this image as much as I do.

This is just beautiful...thanks so much for sharing it. The lens flare is perfect and the colors are so deep and warm. Gorgeous as usual! :)

this is just a great image, lots of emotion and story... can't really understand the voters on this one, really should have been top 5 at least.really nice job,

You couldn't show warm and cozy in a photo any better than this. Love the light and awesome use of solar flares. Excellent!

The backlighing is great especially since the horses are not in silhouette. I generally don't like lens flares in photos, but in this case, I think it adds to the warmth of the photo. Great photo.

great expressive shot. I think maybe the amount of flare takes a little away from the feeling, but it adds to it as well.
