 shot with my new (used, but new to me!) Sigma 150 macro. Love this lens. Used hot-shoe flash, aperture-priority. Autofocus, AI servo. just missed the top of his wing. but this was very difficult to get the bee just as he was starting to fly away. took hundreds of attempts.

pp: opened raw, adjusting exposure. crop, layers for levels, selective color, color mixer. USM at large radius, USM at small radius (just a little). resize, USM again. add border. blur a little of the pollen on the flower.

nice work Steve - i think you have gotten the hang of the 150mm macro pretty quickly! We have a whole bunch of these guys in our yard this week and I just wish I could have done as good a job as you with this one

Amazing shot...almost indistinguishable because of the pollen until studied. Nice color contrasts.

Wow... what a busy little guy! Great macro... wish the wings were just a bit more of the focal point in the context of this particular challenge, but such a great shot that it hardly seems to matter.

One of my favorites of the challenge. Fantastic closeup with excellent sharpness. Do you always sprinkle your models with powdered parmesan cheese? :)

i get it but, and maybe i'm picky, the wings aren't really noticeable. i like it alot still, the colors and bee blanketed in pollen, it's fun.
