Well that's kinda fun, were they doing it for any reason or just to be nice? |

lol - love that you got the group hug. THAT would have been the picture to see. I think this is fine without their feet. It allows you to bring the focus in closer to the main subject of your photo. GREAT story!
Out of curiousity - did you ask them WHY they were doing this? |

What a shame that people don't even want a free hug. Is it because we walk bye with blinders on? Afraid of disease? Think they'll rob us? Cynicism?
I find this thought-provoking and quite the commentary on society. You're becoming quite the master of capturing the soul of NYC, Larry. |

I remember a video on youtube where a man with a free hugs sign spent the day in some public place. Seems his idea is catching on. Glad you went for the group hug in the end. |

Reminds me of the time my crowd at the dorm, with the RD's permission, hosted a 24-hour hug-a-thon out front of the building. We offered hugs to students, cafeteria workers, and a totally perplexed but amused and game UPS delivery guy. The whole thing was cooked up by Patch Adams, who was visiting at the time. It was neat, actually... probably explains a lot about me and my hippie tendencies in the forums here ;-) |

These guys remind me of that Kleenex commercial. "Tell me about it" or whatever the tag line is. They look like they didn't mind not having strangers to hug... or they just KNEW they could convert you. Either way, it's a fun image. And I'm sure you found something stellar for the Urban Landscape challenge.

They look so vibrant and sweet. You captured that very well. The colors are wonderful. |
