Really does get your attention unlike so many 'flower shots'. Nice processing. |

Greetings from the critique club :)
Well this shot is kindof cool but still, I have seen enough flower shots to last me a lifetime and I really need something different for me to stay interested. You kindof achieve that thanx to the lighting so definately keep experimenting with that flashlight.
I do like the colors and yes, it kindof does look like it´s on fire so nicely done, this is something I would have voted a 6 I believe, wich to me means above average but still not dropping my jaw to the floor. Think that has mostly to do with the black backround, not sure what I would have wanted instead of black but all I can tell you I think that is what is keeping this shot from dropping my jaw. Perhaps having it in an ashtray on a wooden table? Dunno...
Anyway, focus and lighting are good and that´s pretty much all I can say about the image, keep on experimenting :)
Kind regards from Iceland, Lárus. |

This photo has more Gothic flair than Tim Burton. For taking a photo of one thing and making it look like an entirely other thing, I give you a 10. |

Good eye! To see a less than perfect flower and take the time to find the real beauty. |

This flower really does look like fire. I like how the petals are heading in all different directions and the petals on the bottom are a darker color than those on the top. There is one spot in the foreground that seems blown out and is a bit distracting. It also seems like the picture needs some sharpening and/or noise reduction. Overall, awesome idea and composition. |

I do like the subject, love the lighting but I think another angle would've worked better. Still nice! |

The effect is a little strange and the focus is off. I realize you were trying for a fire effect but if not for the title, it would be rather vague. |

There are a few sharp edges that detract from the image. Feathering your selection might help avoid this. |

the crop on this is odd, the flower seems upside-down but the color scheme makes it feel right, some of it is out of focus & there is a loss of detail in the petals--I still like it a LOT. Risky but for me it works. fav! 10! |

Awesome, though the black background feels a little bit too harsh for me. |
