 This little guy's only 4 years old. His family was performing acrobatics at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. He and his siblings got to do a few gymnastics runs.

Editing was some USM at low amount/high radius to enhance contrast, a curve, some sharpening, cloning out a couple of minor things on the edges, and adding blur to make the DOF shallower (I was shooting at F/8.0 to be sure I got him in focus).

I don't know why you started a low score challenge with a shot like this. Nice capture of beautiful form. I find the blur a little distracting, but only a little.

Outside or inside? I've tried to shoot gymnastics before and know how difficult it can be. This is a terrific capture. Terrific depth and frozen action with wonderful colors. Congrats on the nice placement in the large field.

Half the appeal of this is the tension created even though it's stopped motion - the hands are just above the ground - one is waiting for them to touch. The other half is the wonder of the human form - the shape created by the young man is a fascination unto itself.
