 Day 40 Character Goods

This is one of the mascots from NTT Docomo, the huge mobile phone company. There's a family of these mushrooms, and you're given one when you get a new phone. They hold different things, such as this sunflower, a handbag, etc.

They seem to be a very popular collectors' item - many kids at school have them attached to their pencil cases. The other day when checking in at Sydney Airport, I saw a guy who had no less than eight attached to hi knapsack.

I love the fact that Japan's pop culture doesn't completely overlap with the west's. Good job of showing everything in focus with nothing over or under exposed.

I personal like stuffed mushrooms - but I like them in a cream sauce, not sitting on my cell phone.
