 Tuesday, my husband was off work for an afternoon of doctor's appointments, so we took advantage of the time in the morning to dash down to the valley with a load of scrap. This is a destruction derby car, loaded over the past week with enough metal junk from my husband's various automotive collections to total two and a half tons. We are easily amused, and so the kids and I love to go with Daddy to the scrap yard in the valley and watch the huge claw machine (like nothing so much as a giant version of the one in Toy Story: "I have been chosen! I go on to a better place!") pick up last year's (or whatever year's) derby car full of scraps and toss it onto a heap like a worn-out toy.

(There's also a very cool machine that looks like a birdish sort of dinosaur, that grabs big pieces of scrap metal and chomps them up small. People who aren't rednecks don't know what they're missing. :)

Haha, it is like Toy Story, I love that part of the movie, those little squeaker guys are too funny :)

The centered composition is really good, Rachel. And the yellow car adds a nice splash of color, making it sort of a happy junk shot - especially with the brilliant sky. Love it!
