 This is a small glass orb (about twice the size of a normal marble) with a bunch of tiny bubbles inside. It is help up by a small coil of wire. This apparatus is sitting on our kitchen table (glass) with one of our purple-seated chair directly underneath. You can see our back windows, a couple of chairs, and some other stuff refracted in the orb. Lit only with natural light from the windows.

Shot in RAW: converted to 16-bit tif, NI in PS, tone-mapped in Photomatix, save as tif.

interesting macro shot - the background is pretty good but I have a little trouble seeing the 'upside down part'

oddly, mine too...

This is such a neat image - I really love the tones & composition. The curious subject here makes it fun to look at.
