I would argue with Nephrotic. With this image the skewed horizon is irrelevant - think of a kid who is trying to look into horse's eyes. This is exacly what the kid would see. And the horse is busy and shy a little bit... just quarter second before turning the head on you!
The shot quality is really outstanding.
I gave it +6, not +10 just because this is a Zodiac challenge and the Zodiac horse has to be mystical and symbolic. |

Really nice calendar shot. The only thing is that angles (angled horizons) tend to create a sense of excitment, It is a psychological phenomena) rather like the old Batman style of filming.
I think that is what has gone wrong in the picture.
I know the horse does not look right when the picture is rotated to level the background, I tried in photoshop - so this is one of those times when you need to have in your minds ete when taking the shot - "what is happening outside the main subject".
It's a shame because it is beautifully exposed. It needed a walk-around to try and find a different angle. it's the classic case of taking a beautiful landscape and then on looking at the picture finding a huge litter bin right in the foregound!
Getting the exposure of the horse as good as that in snow is an achievement in itself.

| The unusual angle has something to be said for it and the colors are nice. The harness and fence take away from the Chinese Zodiac theme a bit for me. |

| big warm furry horse in a wintery scene. I like the angle. The lighting is nice. Focus a bit soft (but so is the horse!) Lacks a "wow" somehow, but very comfortable and pleasing. |
