 For the "sharpless" side challenge

Converted to B&W at the suggestion of L1, which turned into something of a challenge for me. Ended up using two channel mixer layers multiplied together and a brightness/contrast layer as well, then resized for submission.

The original had the red color as a major subject component. This version doesn't have the color distraction. I hadn't thought of trying B&W, but the purity that results is a pleasing surprise. Thanks L1 for the suggestion.

I took the liberty of reprocessing this: Fantastic, beautiful picture -- I'm working on a series of blurred images and I may have to reproduce this idea...hmmmmmm!!!

I like that you applied the word "purity" to this in your comments. The red one has a completely different feel, doesn't it? Amazing what a difference color or the absense thereof can do to the feel of a picture.

That IS an interesting variation. I'm fond of the red in the other version, but I acknowledge that this one does something special also.

Wow! This is so artful. I like them both, but I think I am a little more wow'd by the color one. For me, he color one gives more definition to that beautiful dancer. The blur is exquisite!

Oooh I like it very much! It takes away the distraction of color and really brings the emotional intensity up a notch! :)
