 August 3rd:
My aunt & uncle had a bunch of my family over for burgers tonight. My grandma is staying there this weekend before returning home on Sunday. There are around 35 people of my mom's side of the family (aunts, uncles & cousins), and I always have a great time when any of us get together, which usually is only a few times a year. We love to play card games & dominos (it gets pretty intense :). Tonight we played Mexican Train (a dominos game). I liked the patterns the dominos made during the games, this shot is de-saturated a little in some colors to bring out the dominos.

The desat works great here. I love the color tone of the shot. Very cool perspective and I love that car thingy down on the bottom.

ha !!! .. wot an amazing coincidence .. we're packing stuff up so that we can put tiles in our family room and today, not two hours ago, before i took some photographs of katee lying in the sun in the bedroom, for our square challenge side, i put two packets of dominos in a box until we can get everything out again after the tiling ..
love the blur of the hand and this isnt even in the sharpless side !!! ... great perspective .. lucky your grandma's cat didnt walk on the table !!! .. i'm sure cats have been known to totally destroy hours of effort and some excellent games in the blink of an eye .. !!:)

I love the motion of the woman's hand. The processing gives this a very nostalgic feel to it. It's just great.

Some of my fondest memories of my grandparents are of playing games with them. Dominoes can be so bright and colorful, I think they are an excellent subject for photography. Good job on the desat.

35 people, no wonder you only get together a couple times a year! When I was growing up, I lived within about 30 minutes of my grandparents, more than a dozen aunts & uncles and over 50 cousins and a myriad of coat tail relatives. We had these types of bashes often - houses so packed, you could not find a place to sit down - but the food never ran out:)

Fun story, brings back good memories!
