One of the nice things about living in Leuven is the totally random pieces of sculpture that are scattered around the town.

This is one of my favourites, when you walk along as normal, you don't really notice the top of this, it just looks like a big steel pole. I must have walked past it a few dozen times, before looking up, and realising there was a whacking great fly pinned upside down at the top of it.

The base doesn't show up so well in this shot, so I'll explain, it's actually a huge needle, complete with an eye at the bottom.

exposure tweaked in Aperture, otherwise, as shot

Yes, I recognized that as a giant needle. The fly at the top is hilarious!

I also looked up this today: Leuven.

OMG - what a kick! Great sculpture and I love the way you captured it. I used to live in Kassel, Germany, where the huge modern art show, Documenta, is put on every four or five years. As a result, there were also tons of "random" pieces scattered throughout the city - some huge and some not so noticeable. This one reminds me of that.
