I like the added room to her right and removing a bit of the foreground as you've done. Her shirt and skin tones seem a bit brighter which is good. And the last obvious piece of plugging in a dramatic sky and bg hills changes the feel of the image completely.

I actually like the original challenge entry better for the context of her waiting for someone to return. The bleak sky works better in that context.

Losing the odd border is also a plus.

Overall impression: a very good image.

I like the composition quite a bit. The diagonal of the shore helps bring attention to the subject.

Very good colors in the sky and excellent contrast with the sea. Only problem with exposure / colors is that the legs of the subject get lost in the dark lower part of the image. I would have liked to see more detail / definition in the stones, which have quite a dramatic texture.

Don't understand the cleaver in the hand at all. If it's meant to convey a message it's kind of lost on me, sorry :) Fortunately it's small enough that it doesn't seriously affect the shot.

My score in a "Free Study" for this: 7-8

Final suggestion: thin white line inside the border to better contain the image, this border gets lost in the dark stones.
