 We are in the throes of something called Old Spanish Days which is a local event which celebrates the city's Spanish/Mexican heritage (as envisioned by the Marketing Department). It's a Big Deal, locally, and there's a lot of music and food on the plaza half a block from where I work. These were two musicians in a mariachi waiting to perform.

We see guys like these at Mexican restaurants and also in Mexico if you are eating dinner, they come around and serenade you, hoping they'll get a few dollars. I actually like the sound of their music too. It's an acquired taste, but it has such a joy to it.

I like the hint of purple in this shot. Lots of deep dark tones. Great job.

The processing here reminds me of the family photos that you might actually see in a Mexican restaurant. Love the candid look of this. I bet that is actually a pretty interesting event to go to.

I think this could have scored well in the Street Photography challenge. You've really captured some real life expressions well. I think regular B&W would make it a bit stronger without the slight color cast.
