a painting with diagonal brushstrokes. I like it! this was Mondrian's last painting before he went completely abstract. |

This is very effective for me; composition is strong, with the open garage on the left adding depth into the shot that I almost feel I could walk into, standing behind the seated figure, watching, myself only a blur. |

What I find interesting about this is how much we get from context and knowing what things look like. So there's no question of the subjects, but the blur lets us explore the textures and shapes without focusing so much on the specifics. |

If I had not seen where this was taken, it could easily have been anywhere. I think most towns have area's like this. I was thinking more of a small town, this is a mechanics garage, and the guy sitting is waiting for his car.
I do like this image, blurry drive-by shot or not. :) |

I think you caught a lot more than just a blurry image here...there is a story, especially given all that's going on in the middle east currently. this photo strikes a tone of despair, yet the cheerful rose colored building gives one hope! good for you for getting out there & giving it a whirl. |

It's the strong color contrasts that give this interest for me, so sharpness isn't necessary. I don't know how effective this would be, but if it were mine, I might try cropping off the left side, almost up to the seated man, in order to use both subjects as "bookends" in the composition - just to see what it looks like. |

This one has good colours and a nice balance to the composition. |

It is reminiscent for me of a drive-by shot, and maybe works less for me because of it... :/ But it begs a closer look, and a study of the figures and their actions, and what each is doing, and so seems more important for me regarding story... which is a crucial element of "focused blur" for me... |

i really like the posture of the guy sitting down .. the just about hopeless feeling i'm getting from him .. it goes so well with the blur and the general look of disrepair .. the pink paintwork & the blur just heightens this somehow .. dont ask me why !! :) |

I immediately thought "this is what it looks like after 3 margaritas on a Saturday afternoon." I love the pink - it makes the shot. We may be all cross eyed by the time this series is over. ISN'T IT GRAND??? |

The more I look at this, the more I like it. It's beautiful street photography in the sense that it's a capture of people just going about their business. I love the guy on the left caught in mid-stride. The blur makes this a universal shot -- it could be anywhere -- South Central Los Angeles, Mexico, where you are, anywhere. But yeah, it would have gotten hammered in a challenge. |

I like how the blur takes the fine detail away and leaves only the shapes, forms and color to stand more on their own. Nice comp. Nice work. |

The bold color gives strength to the blur. I'm a little slow warming up to this one because the blur messes with mind, takes longer to digest, but I really do like this. In the street challenge you would probably have got nailed by the impulse votes. Very nice Deb!

ok. i know i'm weird but i'm thinking theres a story here...it looks like a run down area(although i know theres a lot of that where you are right now) but from an american perspective makes me think downtown, secluded, drug cartel meeting spot type area. and the viewer/person seeing this image was just roughed up for some reason and thier vision is blurred from being punched in the face a few times, they are just looking up for a moment to get there bearings before they limp away..that's how I see. it. kinda cool. |

I like it, it has that hazy, hot, lazy Sunday feeling. I love the gelati colours they add to the mood. |

When I bring this up I feel like I'm waking up in a dream state - not sure a good or bad dream. Breaking the photo in sections - the pink wall to the right - the opening to the left - adds visual interest to the photo.
