 I love Portraits - taking them, thinking of taking them, and learning not how to make it look as though I'm some master in photography, but more or less to truly capture that person's character. Jake is my fiance, and is always showing me how to laugh when I'm down. I love learning to capture some of his best expressions....

The artsy look in the background is my recent attempts to trying something different. I'm wanting that dark, gothic look you see without filters, without painting, without layers... I haven't mastered it yet, but this was the first one I didn't delete! That in itself makes me proud and was my freestudy for the month.

Up close and personal. I may have tried to get a little wider shot on the head. Color, texture, and focus are all good, though a shallower DOF may have been nice.

Nice angle though I think the image would be much better if the bg were more out of focus.

I don't see the candid here. This angle and this close how could he have not known he was being photographed? Still a nice protrait, albeit unconventional pose. 6.

Looks very posed, rather than candid. There's some wierd texture on the background, that I don't like.
