Coming from a country where we don't have snakes I have a fascination with them. On a recent trip to Australia we went to Australia Zoo and through the snake house. The snakes are behind glass and I had to rush a bit as our boy was very tired and wanted to go back to the car and sleep. This is the best of the snake shots I took.

Editing Steps:
Convert from RAW in multiple exposures
HDR and Tone Map
Dodge and Burn
Saturation increase on the snake

Probably one of the most evil and deceitful looking snakes I've ever seen on DPC! Excellent color tone and incredible detail. Great photo!

nice DOF and I'm strangely drawn to the central composition here. 6

I love the lighting on this. A tough crop, but still very well done.

The foreground is a bit distracting, but I really like the clarity of the snake's head. I keep expecting to hear it hiss and stick its tongue out.

I don't think this particular snake is too interesting. The DOF causing the section of the back to be in focus with the head is a distraction. Lighting looks nice, color is great, but composition wise I just don't like this one. 5.
