I was driving towards my favourite shooting location for birds when I actually drove right past this little guy walking towards me on the side of the road. I quickly backed up past him and got a few shots.

He actually crawled under my car and went to sleep! I had to wake him up by talking to him loundly and steer him into the bush so he would be safe. (the road is not busy at all, but I would not want him to get hurt) I think the den was nearby and perhaps he awoke from his nap before his mother did, and decided to take a walk. The locals assured me that the mother was in the area as well, so he was not an orphan.

It was an amazing experience.

that is an amazing find, nice that you helped him off the road. I hate road kill, such a waste of a creature. I recently counted on a 100km bike ride over 25 dead things frogs, raccoons, snakes and birds. Anyway this little guy is adorable! When wildlife shots get scored here, folks never take into account how hard it is to find the wildlife : )

Just stumbled upon this photo. Great experience and beautiful photo. I love wolves and have encountered a few in Ontario while snowmobiling near my grandparents cottage. Beautiful animals...only wish I were into photography when I was 14.

Most people would be excited just to have experienced seeing a wolf pup in the wild, yet you not only were able to get a great photo of the event to treasure forever, you also interacted with this beautiful animal! Wow! That's very cool.

I really like the color and the glow you achieved in processing this shot. Nicely done.

That is a bit too shallow of a DOF

Cute little bugger. Lighting looks nice, sharp around the eyes. But to me something is missing and I just can't figure out what it is. If I could I would say 6.5, but I can't so I will have to round down in this case to a 6.
