 July 25th:
I was so mad today when I got out of my night class to the most beautiful sunset I had ever seen & only had my powershot camera with me. I had a better quality one taken earlier, but even with the poor quality of this one, you can still see the amazing colors that lit up the sky this evening & I had to share it. I need to start carrying around my SLR with me, I just always worry when I have to leave it in the trunk during class.

regardless of what this was taked with, the colours are stunning. It looks almost like the sky is alight, really wonderful capture

Get a bigger purse, then you take the camera EVERYWHERE with you... :)

I love the grain in the image, it really gives this an otherworldly (?) feel to it. And yes, gorgeous!

Hahahahha 'Only' a powershot???? Get yourself a vivitar then you will know the meaning of the word 'only'

Regradless of the kit you had with you it still comes across what an amazing sunset you had

that sky is on fire! so beautiful! i know how yo feel about carrying the camera around... i have the same problem. love those purple anad grey tones at the top of the frame!

Yes. The sky is very dramatic. Kelly have you tried some of the noise reduction programs like Neat Image? It sometimes works wonders on shots like this.

I love the frame. :o) You are right - gorgeous colors. I bet it was breath taking. You could have your slr surgically attached to your face, as I'm sure many have done here. That way you won't ever miss another opportunity like this. ;op

Indeed a beautiful sunset.

Yes, your shot is a little grainy, but so what, you captured what you saw and gave us a glimpse. Frankly, no photo can compare to the real thing. That's what makes them so spectacular.
