Challenge: Road Signs Re-revisited (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Olympus C-730UZ
Location: N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL
Date: Jan 20, 2004

Shutter: 1/80
Galleries: Humorous, Candid
Date Uploaded: Jan 20, 2004

Traffic signs on N. Michigan Ave. just before it joins Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. This pedestrian was studying the signs for the longest time, perhaps trying to decide if he has enough of an inner drive to continue walking to the left ... or to wherever he is going.

Tech: crop, autolevels, unsharp mask.

I really like the signs and the guy looking at them, the reflection of the stop lights in the glass wall, the car coming up alongside in the opposite direction.

Inner drive keep left...hmm maybe it's a political statement. Is that Chicago..The only place I know with an inner drive (Lake Shore Drive) I grew up thre. Michigan Ave perhaps?

A truly great sign! If I were in high school, I'd be trying to figure out how to get it moved from that corner to my locker....

Creative. The car behind is distracting. Take again with no car there.

The car is a distraction, but I like the person in the picture.

LOL, the guy looks confused as well. Not exactly "eye popping" IMHO, but great capture =-)

A little ironic how do you keep left without hitting a car? I know its perspective of how you got the shot! If that was your intention then I wonder how many will catch on? I like it too!
