Congrats for your Posthumous Blue Ribbon. It's nice to see great works being recognised even out of the mainstream taste. |

Just looking through the thumbnails and this one struck me immediately. Wow.
I don't normally pick a ribbon without voting the entire challenge, but I've seen all the thumbnails and this is an obvious choice.

Good use of the stoplight for perspective. Well composed. |

This has potential, but I find the traffic light and amount of fence distracting and the subject too dark. |

I like it. Took me a second to figure out that those 3 obtrusive objects are part of the story here! I'm slow. How cool for dummies like me if the color of the lights could be visible with a slightly different angle and the use of a history brush :) I just want to help her out and give her a pat (gently) on the back for not sitting around doing nothing. Good jov both of you! |

Nice capture, well executed. The sharp contrast and b/w does add to the feeling of determination. I've heard this time and time again and I know it's true...'Getting old is not for sissys'. It takes lots of strength when one gets old. My grandmother is almost 100 years old. I love your image as it reminds me of her quiet strength. |

Successfully evocative of the concept you are trying to convey. I like that the "background" angled through the composition stays dark and relatively featureless - it effectively serves to keep the eye on the main subject. The foreground stoplight provides further "story" and context, as well as anchors the left side of the frame. Great job! |

Nice choice. Great use of the traffic lights. Adds to the overall appeal of the image well. It is definately "determination" when you see these old girls cutting up the footpath with their walking aids. Vety fitting 9 |

The idea meets the challenge for me, but the bright horizontal things on the left are really distracting. I wonder how it'd look with that stuff cropped out? |

The light on the left completely takes away from the photo. Should have cropped that out. |

Good concept. I really think that the blurry foreground is distracting and dosen't add to the shot. |

Good Job! I like the stop light in the photo. It really gives you a feeling of how far she must go. |
