This is an image of Mount St. Helen's taken on July 3rd. This was my first trip up there and I have lived near it my entire life. I captured it in RAW format and processed the RAW file 3 times and then used Photomatix Pro to generate an HDR image. I then Tone Mapped it using Photomatix and imported the resulting file into Photoshop. I finished the image using various techniques and resized for web and sharpened. I absolutely love the way this turned out and hope everyone else does as well.

I would have liked this so much better without the over-HDR treatment.

Beautiful colors. Love the perspective.

You took this photo of one of nature's most beautiful sights from a fantastic vantage point. Well chosen. Your post processing does a good job of bringing out the textures of the land! But I am sorry to say you ruined the image for me with your post processing. It is far over the top. I have seen this vista, and the post doesn't enhance it, it doesn't improve on the original, and doesn't help to tell the story of the mountain. I could have given this a 10, but am backing off to a 7 due to the post.

Wow, this looks like an oil painting.

Nice. The ground seems to be lacking a little contrast in the foreground though.

This picture shows the distinct difference between beauty and power. You have to think about this one but it is very good.

Your photo has that unnatural HDR processing look to it. The eye really never sees in such a way. As you gather, I am not a fan of this type of processing. However, it is an interesting graphic composition. 7.

Your image seems a little over sharpened, but what a great expansive panoramic view!
