 Last minute, sure to bomb, but I miss my update button! :)
Pyrex lab stir-rods on a glass cutting board, lit from below by a flourescent light bar.

USM 20%@60, clone out a tiny mustard stain, levels, USM 60ish%@.7, bit of sharpen tool on closest couple rods, resize, USM 20%@1, save for web.

not sure what it is, my guess for the surface would be a rippled aluminium plate (i use that as a reflector), but it looks great!

Strange. I hope you spend more time on this subject using different approaches to lighting, because somewhere out thre is a magic combination of subject and light which would cause this shot to just lay me out. As it is, it meets the challenge and is certainly unique but it leaves my eyes asking for more.
