 At the risk of incurring a lot of jokes, I present as my "July Adventure" one beaver, who paddled contentedly in front of me for about 15 minutes, as I stood by a stream on July 4.

I'd just stand there and stare instead of thinking of taking a picture. Sorta the reverse of deer in the headlights.

What a treat to be so close to a beaver and to get such a nice shot. I'd love to watch one swimming around for that long.
