 Thanks for all the comments on my image. Another personal Top 5 for me.

I had been interested in trying a 'painting with light' picture for some time but never had the opportunity. For this one, I cut out a profile from a piece of white poster board. I threw the actual face part away and clipped the negative space (left side of picture) to my reflector holder. That's the basic setup.

I used a long exposure (around 10 seconds) in a darkened studio. After pressing the shutter, I shined a blue LED light on the front of the suspended paper. Then I walked behind the paper and shined the light into the camera, flailing my arms wildly. I did this numerous times, varying the distance from the light to the paper and the amount of 'flail' until the desired effect was achieved.

I think this technique could yield some very interesting pictures, depending on the shape of the cutout. It certainly adds another level of interest to a painting with light picture.

The site needs more shots like this; bold, artistic without reserve. Excellent shot. Make this a print and sell a bunch; it has a cool advertising feel to it as well. AT&T will come a knockin'.

Now I really like this approach. Good idea for the setup, the result is really effective.
The colour is very nice, and definitely deserved the high score (could have done even better I reckon in a different challenge)
