Challenge: Extreme Emotion: Faceless (Basic Editing)
Collection: Shadow or Silhouette
Camera: Olympus E-500 EVOLT
Lens: Olympus 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5 Zuiko Digital
Date: Jul 21, 2007
Date Uploaded: Jul 22, 2007

This is one of those extreme rides (in my book) that spins you and centripetal force holds you in place. Major barf-fest if you ask me. I like the person with their arms raised as if to indicate they are ready to go.

I don't care how this does - I am really pleased with how it turned out and I love it!

I played with color balance, brightness contrast, resize, sharpen.

This reminds me of your username, with the ride and the bright colors. ;D Neat shot!

Michelle, I don't see this conveying extreme emotion. I think this might be a case where you expected viewers to react the same way you do, which is always a risky proposition. I happen to love thrill rides. :) But the problem for me was not getting much emotion from the people.

As an image apart from the challenge, thought, it's really fun. It has lots of little surprises scattered around, encouraging me to explore. And the colors are really pretty.

Cool picture. I am getting this real big "showgirls/redlight district" vibe, though that probably wasn't intent. Love the look and feel though. Terrific take on the challenge.

I'm not really seeing any "extreme emotion." I do like the colors though.

I know the emotion from graviton type rides, however here, I don't see any emotion. The arms that are up appear to be holding on and not waving. Waving would create emotion. I like the idea, its a nice capture all around, however the power-lines also just turn it blech.

I like this photo a lot; the lighting, the colors, the composition. It doesn't say "extreme emotion" to me though.

I feel like their is an anticipation I can feel coming from the ride. I enjoy the colors and silhouettes but think perhaps it would have been stronger without the person on the right who is not on the ride. reminds me of childhood. :)

Everything is so dark I'm having trouble picking out the people, and I don't get any emotion from it.

LOL......someone was already experiencing "extreme emotion" without the ride even working! Can't imagine what this person did while it WAS in motion! Or.....was this a "victory!...I made it through the ride!" type of expression?! LOL Nice dusk capture! Makes me want to go to a fair now.

very out of the box entry - i can just feel the emotion of the kids on this ride...

The theme and/or subject isn't very clear. I can't quite figure it out.
