 I spotted these two swans on a sunny winter afternoon by Lake Ontario. This was the only pair of swans with about 20 or so ducks and a few seagulls flying around. I took a bunch of photos mostly of the swans and mostly solo. I wanted to get them close enough to each other to be in the frame. After many attempts (my fingers were getting numb and my card was nearly full), they finally came near each other and I took the chance. This was the result.

Always difficult to get the exposure right on swans on a sunny day. and this is almost perfect. Try cropping the blank space so that the heads of the swans are at the edge of the picture. It seems to elongate the swans necks and make them even more impressive

Composition very nicely done with the swans facing in the same direction. Crop is good too, but I think your exposure is a bit off with the bright sun. Contrast is just a bit too high and water too dark.

This is a very pretty photo with great detail on the swans. It also conveys an emotional message that adds to the quality.

bright light against the white feathers is a tough situation that you handled well here. you can even see the eyes in the swans - which usually get lost in the dark markings around the eyes.

slightly snapshot esq. but good detail left in the swans coats. like the drip also coming from the bottom ones mouth.
