I was shooting some portraits in the garden initially using flash, then for this DPC entry I put the flash to one side and experimented using white card (with some crumpled silver foil stuck to the centre) as a reflector to bounce the light into the girls face.

As we look at her, the light was behind and to the left of the girl with the card reflector just infrount of her below and to the right.

This was my first attempt at this so I am pleased with the result. This close it even gave a small catch light in her eye, which I slightly enhanced

Processing - Converted to B/W ( darkening the green chanel)and then cloned out a small freckle on the tip of her nose.
cropped sized and saved for DPC

her hair & the bg seem to be competing with one another..lots of waves & lines...

nice composition but for me the tint used highlights the overdone lighting

I really love this alot. Maybe a little more cropping or taking this photo off centered would really kick up the impact. The lighting and treatment is wonderful

I'm not sure why you chose to convert this to black and white - it really doesn't add anything to the image. Generally, it's a nice shot and with the advanced editing rules you could have done a lot with it in color.

I don't like the B&W conversion on this, which is a shame as the picture seems excellent. the focus and DOF are spot on and the pose is good. I think the composition could do with being a little further off central and it looks a little too grey for my taste.
