I need to remember about this next time somebody says that DPC images in 2012 are so much better than in the past :)
What an image, amazing.

Superb...

Dramatic

At first I saw this as only a portrait on human life rather than this particular person. This was probably because his eyes were covered and I couldn't get the instant gratification of seeing into his soul or so they say. No I had to take the roundabout way to know him by what life has done to his withered body and it's only then when I truly see him for what he is and not what I want to see had I looked into his eyes.

This is such a stunning shot, I was sure it would win and I'm surprised it didn't. Congrats on 11th place.

His body is like a 'map' of life! Love your image.
07/24/2007 03:31:32 PM
Others may feel different but some parts of it are a little too black for my likes, reflection from the glasses worked well, 8

Stark, extereme image. Really really impacting and interesting. The reflection in his glasses is mildly irritating - I really wanted to see his eyes more clearly.

Looks like he's in a POW camp (8)

Shocking to look at, very emotive. Great job with the light. Another top ten.

this is a well-lived life! & a great image!

could have easily cropped a bit tighter above the nipple line, below the clavicle & kept my interest on his face & neck...would tell the "story" in strong fashion.

excellent use of light, love not being able to see his eyes completly, gives it such an anonymous look. dig it

Amazing likeness in style to 60's/70's photojournalism. Classic excellence in this portrait!
07/19/2007 12:20:12 PM
wow - deeply emotive. intriguing textures & the fact that his eyes are hidden adds an interesting element...

Wow, that's a little bit scary.
Amazing b/w tones and exposure is dead on for me.
07/18/2007 10:26:11 PM
You are certainly evoking a lot of emotion here. I have so many questions. Who is this man? Why is he so ematiated? What is his life like? Where does he live? I hope you will share the details of this powerful image. 10
07/18/2007 03:46:19 PM
OMG, i'm speechless
07/18/2007 11:27:16 AM
Not *pretty* by any means, but it definitely tells a story and gets the viewer's attention. The bw works very well for this.
07/18/2007 10:17:15 AM
OMG!!!! I hope you gave him something to eat! Great capture.
07/18/2007 10:02:22 AM
