I need to remember about this next time somebody says that DPC images in 2012 are so much better than in the past :)
What an image, amazing.

At first I saw this as only a portrait on human life rather than this particular person. This was probably because his eyes were covered and I couldn't get the instant gratification of seeing into his soul or so they say. No I had to take the roundabout way to know him by what life has done to his withered body and it's only then when I truly see him for what he is and not what I want to see had I looked into his eyes.

This is such a stunning shot, I was sure it would win and I'm surprised it didn't. Congrats on 11th place. |

His body is like a 'map' of life! Love your image. |

Others may feel different but some parts of it are a little too black for my likes, reflection from the glasses worked well, 8 |

Stark, extereme image. Really really impacting and interesting. The reflection in his glasses is mildly irritating - I really wanted to see his eyes more clearly. |

this is a well-lived life! & a great image!
could have easily cropped a bit tighter above the nipple line, below the clavicle & kept my interest on his face & neck...would tell the "story" in strong fashion. |

excellent use of light, love not being able to see his eyes completly, gives it such an anonymous look. dig it |

Amazing likeness in style to 60's/70's photojournalism. Classic excellence in this portrait! |

You are certainly evoking a lot of emotion here. I have so many questions. Who is this man? Why is he so ematiated? What is his life like? Where does he live? I hope you will share the details of this powerful image. 10 |

Not *pretty* by any means, but it definitely tells a story and gets the viewer's attention. The bw works very well for this. |
