This is a former gasification plant that a park was built around in Seattle, WA. The park is called Gas Works Park, and the plant stands in the center, fenced off but otherwise open to the public eye. The Seattle Gas Light Company shut down the plant in 1956, and the area was purchased by the city and opened as a park in 1975. It is a nice area on the north shore of Lake Union with a lovely view of downtown Seattle from its hilly expanses. Though I find the old plant to be more intriguing.
I unfortunately cut off the top of the plant tower, which is the main part of this picture that bugs me. Otherwise, it turned out rather how I had pictured it, and I loved the line of the pipe running down the foreground.
Processing: bumped up the saturation, adjusted the color balance, adjusted contrast, rotated slightly, cropped, sharpened, and saved for web. |

| Unique structure, but it doesn't hold my interest for long. I do like the color contrast of the pipes against the sky though. |
