| I really like this image, but I don't consider this a portrait. One could argue that it is a portrait of nature, but I feel that is not what the Challenge intended. I think this would probably do rather well in the Free Study, but here I don't think it fits. I'm scoring it low for that reason only, but it is a lovely sunset shot. :-) |

| Although sunsets are natural light, I would expect a "portrait" to display something more distinctive about the personality or character of the subject. |

| Beautiful picture, but hardly a portrait other than orientation and natural lighting. Maybe you were trying to push the definition, but I fear your score will be adversely affected. Still I'll give you a 6 for this shot. It would have been higher if I felt it met the challenge. I saw a beautiful firey cloud sunset over a boat harbor a week or so ago, but alas had no camera. |

That water looks like velvet, and the sky is certainly not boring.
I've had a think to myself about landscape shots in this challenge, and basically as i see it this shot is a portrait of natural light, so fits perfectly.

| This is one great image, but when I looked up the meaning of portrait it said "of a person" just because alot of people are knit pickey here, I am not saying DNMC, this will probably score better than my image of a person, I really love the colors and all the detail to it. I will have to score this a 6 just because of the quality and great work. Please correct me if I am wrong in the meaning of portrait. |

I'm sorry this is a nice picture but it is not a portrait. Definition from the English dictionary
"a pictorial representation of a person usually showing the face" |
