July 11th:
I really hate to disappoint those of you that saw the tumbnail of this & thought "Oh, I'll bet this is a cute story about a nice dinner with friends". This is not that...at all, this is about "one of those days". I'm sure you've all had "one of those days"...I had one today. It was a semi-normal day to start, drove the 45 min. south to San Marcos for class, went to work for 6 hours & then had to leave to head the opposite direction (north) an hour or so to go Round Rock for my 4 hour night class (this is why I hate Wednesdays). I had been working all week on a 20 minute presentation that I had to give in class, which I had been stressed about but it ended up going pretty well. By the end of class at 10:00 I was ready for bed! So, I get in my car and about 10 min. later start to smell something & look down to see that my car has overheated. I pull over (to this Corino's Italian Grill), and call my dad...I am a firm believer that a girl never gets too old to call her dad for car help. He says he will come & help me. Well, he gets stuck in construction for an hour (only in Austin), and meanwhile I decide to try & take my mind off the stress of what could be wrong with the car...so I start playing around with my camera & ended up with this random shot taken from inside my car of the side of the building. To sum it up it is now 1:30 am, I am back home, I was able to get my car to the shop & will miss class tomorrow morning to go & get whatever is wrong with it fixed. My dinner was blueberry pancakes eaten at IHOP at 11:30 pm (this was the 2nd place I had to pull over when the car still wouldn't cool down). I should be in bed but I somehow just had to come & share my insane day...cross your fingers that the car can be fixed cheaply :)
THANK YOU to kelmat (my dad) for saving the day!

I'm sure your dad feels the same way! How cool that he is on this site, too.

Good, bold colors. The oval sign looks good in the square crop. I hope your car is okay!

Kelly, that's a bad day. I am sure you made everyone feel a little better about their day, relativley speaking of course. I hope the car turns to be cheaply fixable and you are on your wheels soon. Best of luck.

Wow, Kelly - we could start a club. The Rotten Day Club. One day you'll look back and laugh... or will you? LOL!

I do hope it's cheap and easy. Good that you have a dad and that he was able to come to your rescue. And blueberry pancakes sound appropriate for this stressful situation.

Love the shot - very buttery and warm colors. You'll have to go to dinner there sometime.

sounds like you had a day you wont forget for a long time .. and how obsessive you must be, firstly to take photographs and then when you get home and are really tired you put your pic with your story in our side ... join the club !!! .. lol lol .. i'm thinking they should start one of those clinics for ppl who wish to recover from their addiction to dpc and photoshop .. of course i'm not ready for the clinic and wont be EVER !!!!!!!

Wow...but apart from that how did the day go

A story that made me: laugh out loud, sympathise entirely, and realise what to expect in years to come from Daisy

You are an absolute heroine for actually posting a pic today

I hope Thursday is kinder to you

Well that is too bad you had a day like that. A lot of things always seem to happen at once, don't they? Hopefully your car has gotten over itself and was back to normal today!

Oh, man, what a rough day. Glad you're home. And yes, you're never too old to call your dad for help. Dads rock, don't they? :) (I will fully confess that I did indeed expect a "nice outing with friends/family" story when I saw the thumb.)

Oh no, I hope the problem is minor and you get your wheels back soon! Isn't it great when dad saves the day??

Man, sorry about that. I hope that there isn't anything seriously wrong with the car (read: it can be fixed cheaply).

You're right, you're never too old to call Dad. I've been there with the overheated car. Once with baaaaad effects, the other I caught soon enough and it was minimal cost. Good luck, because it can get ugly. On a plus side, at least you weren't stuck on the side of a dark highway.
I'm glad you were still able to post, but I feel sooo bad this happened.

good luck with the car, and that sounds like a truly rotten day.

As you say.. quite a random shot, but I do like it :) Is it all under sodium lighting or is that just a funky white balance thing you have going on?
