 This is an image of dovestone and yeomans hey reservoir in Greenfield, Saddleworth. It's one of the most picteresque and beautiful landscapes in the region, and considered to be an area of outstanding beauty. This image was taken from Saddleworth moor just below the main A635 Holmfirth road.

It's a magical place which holds very fond memories for me as I grew up around here having emigrated from Portugal with my parents when I was a child. Now, living some distance away, I don't get to spend that much time in this wonderful part of England.

The texture of the clouds really helps give some depth to this photo. The composition is very interesting with the lake and valley sandwiched between the large boulder and sky. I think this truly deserves every last bit of pixel real estate available, and the large border is taking away from the precious little we're allowed. Very beautiful photograph!

I like this photo very much. The lighting is wonderful. I'm giving it a 10 and hope it at least finishes in the top 20 for this mega-challenge.

Wow! What amazing DOF here! The composition is also very strong, albeit unusual. The two sides of the rocks draw eyes right down to the river. Well done.
