 Shot in .NEF Raw + JPG-Fine, as always, Previewed these two side-by-side, to see how the camera converted the .JPG, a preview as to what can be done to the .NEF raw file.

Sorted possibilities in Adobe Bridge, then convert from .NEF raw file, adjusted Temperature, Saturation, Contrast, Brightness, Shadows, Exposure, mostly in that order. Selected 8-Contenders out of 43 shots, using the 50mm-f/1.4 and the 18-70mm-f/3.5-4.5 lenses.

In PS3: crop, Hue/Saturation, Curves, Levels, Flatten Image layers, Lower Brightness, Assign profile: Adobe RGB (1998), crop-more, resize, USM, convert to .JPG (Save For Web).

WOW 1st Ribbon! Many Thanks to all, Welcome to my Nightmare. There is nothing to be afraid of. I wasn't wearing the mask of Pennywise, the clown from Stephen King's movie IT. When I bought it last Fall I never knew anything about the clown's name and still haven't seen the movie.

Clowns are supposed to make everyone Happy. I see between Dreams and Nightmares the themes are 2-Flying, 2-Dying, 1-Angel, and this Clown. Chris did all, thanks for rooting for me. He once used the name pennywise on a computer.

I'll post a photo of my interesting setup I used for this, Friday evening. The mask is stored and was on a life sized "Woodie"'s head and neck I bought at a craft store.

My god I'm surrounded by 3 Scalvert's, someone thought this was one, that's scary.

Just checked this out..holy crap!!! I think I will have nightmares tonight from this shot. Creepy, but wow, did you ever hit the nail on the head.

I didn't actually vote on at least 20% (I got too freaked out halfway through) but I did give this image a 10. I clicked on it, looked away for something or other and then when I looked back at the screen I nearly jumped out of my skin. I am not particularly afraid of clowns but this one really made me jump. His expression is just creepy. Good job!

The texture of the clown skin and the well-highlited eyeball along with the black background - even the direction the clownâs eye is looking is great. The subtle overall crop with nothing more than is needed â everyone can tell what it is but the brain / eye does need to look around to find out exactly what it is. The subject is altogether good to because Iâm sure the average person sometimes wonders the very question âDid I / you lock the door?â

Oh man, this is good. The color is obviously a 10, leaving the door mostly black and white. The look on that thing's face is brilliant along with the makeup. This might win.
