 Taken on a solo wander around town. It's got such variety in it I find it hard to believe. If you're a photographer (which you will be since you're reading this) get to Manchester on a weekend.

Here is the original:

the background was kept separate from the people. Gradient map from left to right, USM at 1.7/275 ish, 2 hrs of dodge/burn on the bricks. Used a layer and black/white brush with a gaussian blur set to maximum. Desaturated to about -70% or so to make more of a contrast between the dark moody church and the bright people.

The kids were USMed, levels adjustment, contrast and saturated up about 16%.

The SFW hindered this sooooo much. Even at 200k its at 89% quality an the contrast drops a bit. The full size version is about 9.5 meg and looks beautiful. I do love this pic. I need to get a print.

NOTE to SPC: if for some reason this gets called up, I have tried to be as open as possible but i will be away from my PC until 9 or 10 August as I will be in NY seeing some relatives. I hope if anything happens that requires my attention this will be taken into account.

I love this kind of photography. Dark and richly processed without losing detail or a sense that it's a photo. And I love the moment you've captured.

Very nice. I like the lighting on this shot becuase it fits it. so many others use this lighting and PP but it doesn't fit.Perhaps cropping the tree on the left could strengthen this? 8
