From a photoshoot with a trained dancer. We shot for about 3 hours and I quickly discovered that I didn't have the lights to drive a photosession like this one in a large dance studio. Now I'm just saving up for my lights and backdrops.

I hope the dance position is done correctly - the image has a instructional quality to it. The superb muted colour is pleasant....... and extra point from me for elements of dance and human form....... a direct, simple and elegant point of view.

Very nice selective focus.

i like the idea here. feel using b/w or a duotone would have been a better fit. the colors really wash out the image (floor blends in with shoes, etc). with b/w you'd be able to concentrate more on the forms, the feet.

I'll never work out how they do that...! Nice one, nice crisp pic.

The feet are very nice. I like the from the floor point of veiw. The legs look strange to me though. Kind of 'not real' looking. Especially the right leg. I'm not sure why it looks like this, maybe it's the texture from the tights? They seem flat, like they have no dimensions, and depth. Your focus is really great on the feet, and the connection to the challenge is strong. A great idea for the challenge. ~Heather~

I like the creamy tones here but find the horizontal running black floor board interrupts the coherence of the image.

Cool idea- nicely done! Maybe if the background had been darker it could've been punchier but otherwise very good

subtle colors draw attention to composition. shallow DOF works for me on this shot.

Good idea! Lacks a little on saturation in my opinion. Top composition though and the lighting is also spot on (7)

ouch! kick up the contrast and find a true white and it would be at least a point or two up.
