This shot was taken at the top of the continental divide at a place called Mount Aeneas in the Jewel Basin hiking area in northwest Montana. The elevation is approximately 7500 feet and you can see for miles in every direction. It was about 6:30 in the evening and fairly overcast which made for great lighting. I actually wished I would have had the shutter speed set a little faster...it bugs me that the feet are somewhat soft. I was fortunate to get this guy (gal?) climbing away as we approached the summit. Well worth the hike for this one I think.

Thanks for all of the great comments. I'm happy this shot was so well received. I am very new to the wildlife shots but am looking forward to capturing more.

perfectly composed, im quite jealous myself, i got a shot of this same species of goat when i was in canada this past july, not a ram though
