thanks a lot for all your helpful comments! just wanted to mention that the "fuzziness" of the dawgs was intentional here... i try to come up with something original and different for each challenge... i thought it was a cute idea and really didn't mind standing on a chair for a while with a bird cage on my head taking numerous pictures... i had attempts with better dof, but i wanted the dawgs fuzzy... my husband did warn me that i will get comments to that effect and i knew he was right, but still, i went with what i wanted to do here... you know, an old, cranky bird, maybe with bad eyes, complaining about the privileged dawgs... thanks again... irina.

The part of this shot that is in focus is the birdcage. It is hard to see the dog, and there could possibly be a cat in there as well??? It might help to prefocus on the animals before taking the picture. Also, your flash is pretty bright and the bars of the birdcage lost a lot of color and detail.
Edit: just realized it was bird cage.... sorry.

hahaha...great concept! I love the idea. Very original...a bird's eye view. It does appear to have been heavily post processed. I don't like the colors at all and find the lighting to be too harsh. Also, I would have preferred the focus to be on the sleeping dogs rather than on the bird cage bars. |

Great title, and perfect for this competition. Good idea, and well seen. |

Needs some feathers or change the title to something more direct and clear about the bird on the perch. |

Creative. I may have tried reversing the focus to the pets below. Good job! |

Good idea. It didn't work too well for me. I think I would have gotten more involved if there was some hint of the bird. You might consider placing one of those little bird mirrors on the front and having a reflection of the bird in it, or actually showing the bird. As it is, I feel cheated. I know there is a bird in there, I look at the bars and wait for the whole image to load, and there is no bird in sight, or a perch. Sorry. |

Cute! Great pov! Wish the doggies could be more in focus, but I think it's more artsy this way. |

This is cute, I like the imagination that went into this shot, certainly fits the challenge, I like the lighting used to accentuate the inside of the cage. 8 |

Nice idea, but I don't think that it's obvious enough what the photo is. I also think the colours are too over-saturated and the focus seems a bit out. |

Very cute. Great rendition of the textures of wood and bars. Choosing the bird's point of view works well. I don't know if you could have gotten enough DOF to capture the resting animals better, but it would have made a good shot nearly perfect. |

if i was to rate the idea alone, this would be a 10. congrats! now the photo: it seems like you used flash because the wires are way to bright; also, in shots like this, try using a wider apperture (+ 5.6) to get the greatest focal distance possible. hope this helps.
