| Why the "4 aperture" and "500 shutter speed"? To get better focus on the whole picture it should be the opposite. 180 shutter speed and maybe 10-12 aperture.. could play with it to get the lighting just right. |

| this shot is just amazing...perfect tonal range, exposure is spot on, especially tough with the bright horizon and the dark areas around the stacks. this is a quick fav for me...great job, and congrats on your first of more than likely many ribbons. |

There is a farm field about 20 minutes from my house, and it looks just like this, and i was thinking that some day i should go and photograph it. And now that i see this i can only hope to be able to capture mine atleast half as good as what you have. I hope you win. This is definitly one of my favorites on the site.

| A pleasing composition, and a good photograph for b&w. The bold, brooding sky is well captured. I do find myself slightly confused by the lighting, 'though: the sun appears to be setting on the horizon, yet the highlights and shadows indicate that it is to the right of the photographer. |

Ha! I was driving home from a friend's yesterday and passed a hay field... was thinking "I bet I could get a good shot out here".
Anyway, I love the shot. Has a dramatic, almost abstract feel to it... at the same time looks like little editing was done other than desaturation. |

| I think this a great dipiction on land. Most others just take pictures of meaninglees stuff. This photo has great depth to it, which precisely makes "land" when you think of it. Good job with this photo hopefully it does well. |
