 Taken at home with the help of my lovely wife.... I was going for a sort of caught in the headlights type of look, or just stepping out of the shadows.... and a little bit of a 'lady of the night' look (which in no way reflects on my wife!)
As for the lighting, I shot this with a single flash 550ex sitting outside the door of a room with the door open about 6 inches. Dropped the brightness and lifted to the contrast to get rid of any background. I think it worked well. Also bumped up the colour in the yellow and red channels to give it a warmer more tungsten light feel to it.

certainly an after dark image, the pose is good and the lighting works well, carrying the eye down to the hand

This looks like a boudoir portrait. Its a pretty good one too. I think it just needs a little bit of the details honed to make it really a hot photo. Maybe just a little more light too. I would think some nail polish and lipstick and maybe a little bit of a hairlight would really make this an awesome shot.
