This is great/Vivid colors. I agree some fill light may have brought out the detail. I would've liked to see, more focus on either the petals or the "Central spaceship", more DOF.
It is very spacelike, like an interplanetary spaceship, or planet. The cropping and color make it eye catching. The Red veins almost look like blood vessels. |

| I am partial to this crop for some reason and it works on this for sure. Nice detail on the petals, just a little more in the center would be good, maybe use just a touch of shadows/highlights? |

Gaillardia for sure. The detail/colour on the petals is very good, and I like the green background. If it were me, I'd consider cropping just a little off the right hand side (to get rid of the little green thing at bottom right) and a bit more off the top (again, to get rid of the green intrusion). I'd also add a bit more space on the left, to avoid cutting off that one petal - if you're going to cut off portions, make it intentional, so that it doens't look like an accident. The flower inside looks a bit soft, maybe using a DOF just a bit bigger would help overall?

| This is commonly known as Indian blanket flower (Gaillardia) in the family Asteraceae (sunflower family). They grow wild in Kansas, but I've noticed a lot of people plant them in their gardens. I just love the bright red and yellow combination. |
