 I looked out my office window and saw smoke beginning to billow up across town. I heard on the radio that 4 or 5 cars in a junkyard were on fire. "Aha!" I thought, "A picture!" Terrible what it's come to.....

I imagine most of us here are like that. My problem is that when I see something interesting I'm usually driving and don't manage to get the shot.

I always have my camera with me, just in case. The overall darkness of adds to the photo.

I look through lenses 24 hours a day, in my sleep I take photos, correcting my kids' homework at school I look at it from different angles... I can understand thinking 'photo!'

What I find interesting is that having a camera makes me a bit more ready to "face my fears." I hate heights and snakes, but when I'm taking pictures, I can deal with it better.

Don't worry, I get the same idea whenever I see something like that. If I had more time, I'd probably chase cop cars with my camera...I'm sure they're going somewhere interesting.

yes, but did you drive over TO the junkyard for the picture? That would be a REALLY bad sign. ;-)

Nice photojournalistic shot. (also, I love pictures where one building is reflected in another.)

Oh that is awful. I had smoke & a burning smell in my house earlier from my washing machine. It wasn't pretty!
