 Curious if this is going to get beat on for not being a literal representation of some human activity. Regardless, this is what I do on the weekends. Hike around and take pictures.

edit: I disagree with some of the comments about the technicals of the shot. There are compositional guidelines, not laws of the universe. I played with a variety of crops for this shot.

1 - I cropped the shot so that the trees dwarf the subject, reinforcing the sense of how small the fawn is.

2 - I left the foreground trees in on the left to enhance the sense of depth in the image.

3 - I left the deer fairly centered because I wanted to give the impression that you had just wandered up on him standing in your path.

Concscious decisions on my part, though obviously not the same decisions other folks would have made. No problem, just thought I would detail my thought process.

Don't ya just hate it when people quote you technicals out of some photography book they read. Or maybe someone told them that's how it should be so that must be the way it is, no deviation of the rules are excepted.

Great shot and "dreamy" look. I would have liked to see this with the blurry trees on the left cropped out. This would have taken the deer and put him off center also.

Nice fawn and nice forest..but too much blur added to the trees and the fawn is too small and centered.
