So my roommate up here specializes in hair and makeup for the stage so she took care of hair and makeup for me. we made the ears out of scar wax from a ben nye theatrical makeup kit and I smoothed them out in photoshop. This took SOOO much work in photoshop. I did alot of smoothing and neatimage and work with shadows and highlights. it was pretty much raining outside this whole photoshoot and we had to get lucky moments between showers. the lighting was really temperamental because it was really dull shade but we used 2 reflectors to focus the light, however in this particular location it was very difficult to get good light so i messed with the highlights in photoshop to make up for that. I am very pleased with how this turned out. it is pretty daring for me because i feel like i overprocessed it, but i wanted to do something different and cool. I don't know if this is going to get some dnmc but i did meet an elf this weekend....if you count my friend Melissa in elf ears and a dramatic facial expression a real elf :-D This whole shoot was AMAZING because i used my friend's lens and it is AMAZING!! YAY! :-D

Oh, gorgeous! She is beautiful, and really fits for the shot. Yeah, with the heavy NI and all, it does kind of look very processed, but...for me anyways, it actually works quite well for what is a fantasy image. Very fitting, and looks great. Awesome job with the makeup and ear. Great pose. Lovely photo.

I absolutely love the photo - the colours, the ¨elf´s¨ placement, the softness in the skin and sharpness in the hair.. everything. I think it´s a wonderful portrait photo.. but I can´t decide whether I like it in this challenge. In my opinion, it´s stretching the challenge description a little bit too far. But nonetheless, I´m down with that. 9 from me.

Very cool photo, but the heavily processed face sort of spoils it - even though it is obviously a piece of fantasy.

A great potrait with soft tones and good lighting. The connection to the challenge theme is a bit weak but that doesnt take anything away from the image 8
