 I wasn't photographing flies but the bright blue of this little chap caught my eye on a grey day so I stopped and took his picture. It was a dull day and I only had a monopod so I decided to forsake any attempts at a decent DOF and just focus on his rather appealing little face ;)

Beautiful blues, don't get those around here. They're mostly bright green here.

Lots of flies in this challenge - insect of the month? Anyway good sharp focus...maybe a little too sharp as I can see evidence of over sharpening around the feet of the fly. Other than that excellent photo.

Wonderful detail! all the bright OOF stuff in the front takes away from the wow factor in the photo though in my opinion.

Amazing color and detail on that fly...great job of capturing it in such a small subject. Beautiful photo overall...the foreground starts to border on being a little distracting.
