Thanks for the comment. At the time this photo was made, that type of edit was not allowed. My finished version of this photo has had some modifications like you have mentioned :) |

| As an artist I love the beautiful flow of the curves against the negative space. Adding the constrat color of the apple makes this a perfect work of art. Love it and think it would make a great painting. |

| this is a pretty good shot, john. honestly, i don't find the crop to be all that interesting. i feel like i'd rather see more of the legs and the curves that those would present. i also like the edit you posted on photosig with the black and white body and the red apple. overall, a decent shot. i think you could expand on this subject more. as always, it's very well lit. good work. - mci |

| I feel awkward voting on this because people might think that i like it because of the nakedness, but to be truthful it is a fantastic photo (and the model ain't half bad either :P ). The curves from her pose blend in so well with the apple, and her pink pastel skin is great contrast to the black background and the vibrant red apple! This is beautiful - first thing I thought was of Eve and the temptation of the apple and the whole forbidden fruit thing. (Which I am sure was your intention).
But with the lovely expanse of smooth (and I'm very envious to say, cellulite-free) thigh at the right, I kind of want more weight at the left, bosoms rather than rib cage. No insult to owner of lush body intended :)

| You are sure to get comments (and compliments!) on this one. Your model is beautiful ... nice tonal range on her skin, terrific curves, very nicely balanced lights and darks, good use of negative space. The apple is witty, for all its Eve connotations (lust, forbidden knowledge) and for its color. I could honestly gawk at this photo all day long. This is teetering between a 9 and 10 for me ... if it misses the 10, it's because 10 means perfect -- and to be super picky, there are a few teensy blemishes on the closer thigh, easily spot edited after the challenge. |

I've come back to this photo a few times and discussed it with some people, and here are the two main themes I see:
1) Very strong Biblical overtones with the apple and the title, symbolising the fall of man, expulsion from the garden of Eden, etc. That story has always struck me as very misogynistic, so I don't like it much, but I like the way you captured it.
2) This is a bit disgusting, but I also see a representation here of an engorged clitoris :). I like it, this is a picture full of sexual arousal. There's also the idea of someone eating the apple, ie. cunnilingus.
As a woman, looking at this photo makes me feel a bit gooey because of that second one, which is cool because there aren't many sexual images on DPC that women can relate to that way, they all seem aimed at tittilating men. I like what you achieved. It's not just that it holds all this meaning, it's also incredibly beautiful and technically perfect. 10!!!! - lisae |

It would sure be interesting to see the tally of votes on this one split among gender lines! As a member of the testosterone-crazed male species, I have no choice but to rate this one very highly.
But seriously, I really like this shot. The skin tone is great, and it's so sharp you can almost see individual pores. The lighting on the apple is super, with the highlighted area completely intact and not washed out at all. It looks like you spent a good bit of time choosing just the right apple for this, too. And finally, it all looks great against the black background -- that choice does great justice to the subject. |
