You'll notice the commenter score is much higher. This is one of those shots that the DPC 1-second fly-by voter unfortunately never gets the opportunity to experience, which is their loss, not yours. Marvelously complex yet simple with a myriad of messages or meanings to be left to the viewer. The trapping of the shadow behind the fence, the tree living freely beyond...

love the soft shadow on the wall. I think I'd prefer it without the fence, i don't know... it's just too new and metal and rigid and structured for this scene...

Good use of teh shadows. I think a tighter crop on the right would make it more effective, compositionally.

Excellent image; the tones in the b&w are good, and the textures in the side of the house come through nicely. Use of the shadow for Waldo works so well with the otherwise shadowy tone of the image, and composition is spot on. Delightful.

Ooooo hope you dont suffer for treading an alternative path with this shot. I like it as an image and the fact that the shadow falls behind the fencing provides a slightly ominous/entrapped feeling to it
