Thanks Steve - this is indeed just a snapshot of my wife at the kitchen table. I liked her natural expression, so I worked up the lighting and desat in PS. I'd love to produce images similar to this out of the camera some day - but I'll need to work on lighting. =)
With the light/colors, I was going for a look similar to one of my favorite shots on this site: Cutter's Snowbound Simpleton:

Turned out very nicely indeed if I may say so. Lovely candid expression, and the desat adds to it perfectly. Pretty model. |

Overall nice portrait. What does she have near her mouth? I find that distracting but overall good job. |
