Could you have possibly sharpened a silver crayon that perfectly? Hmm, maybe it is a metal shaving instead? Nice detail in the textures, and an interesting repetition of pattern. |

Cool, I like the background and the diagonal composition. Looks like you shaved off some metal and it formed curls, but it might not be metal at all, it could be a silver coloured crayon. Not sure a crayon would hold together that well though. Good photo for this challenge! |

That's some cool curling metal stuff! I have no idea if there is a purpose or if it's just curling metal. The blue goes well with the silver/gray. |

Is this a metal shaving from a drill? If it is, it sure is an excellent view of one. Actually it looks kind of like the metal strip that was left behind when I used "double cuts" to cut sheet metal when I worked in construction. I like the material you chose for a background too. Nice composition. |

this is a great subject and could have been a great picture with more dramatic lighting and a black background. those little stars are very distracting. |

I was guessing pencil shavings that were desaturated but it's reflecting the blue off the material so I'm guessing metal shavings from a drill while trying drill a hole. Very good photo quality. |

My first thought was pencil shaving but it looks too uniform for that. Maybe some sort of shaving from something metal? |
