If you look closely, you can see that they really our indented in the snow and there's no "effect". I think it's because our brains have been programmed by photoshop's defaults and common practice that the light comes from the top-left of a picture! |

A few folks have asked "how was this done?" My answer is: "I don't know!" I simply shot my footprints in the snow, and this was the result. Very bizarre! It was a sunny day with strong shadows, and I guess this all of those elements come together to form a bit of an optical illusion in this case. |

Great shot. Nice shadows, and really gives the feelling your are looking from below the walker.

this pic reminds me of one of those "trick" pics...is the footprint going down or up...don't know if that is intentional or not...i like it! |

I like it. More contrast might have made it a little better. |

When I first saw this picture, i got confused by the light, and it seemed to be coming out of the snow instead of carved footprints. Took me a while to reprogram the brain... Like it. |

From the angle it looks like the prints are raised. Good use of perspective. |

I don't know why but when I look at this, it looks like the footprints are sticking out of the snow instead of in. I think it's the shadow. Great pcture though. |

I like the lighting on the footsteps...it creates a kind of optical illusion! It's cool. |

The footsteps look raised. I have to really think about it to see that they are indented. Cool effect. Good shot. |
